Who we are

Project ÉDIT is a premier design-build and renovation firm based in Montreal, specializing in the transformation of heritage properties and urban homes. Formerly operating as Design Cube in the National Capital Region (Ottawa), the firm brings over 15 years of construction management and architectural design experience to the Montreal market.

We position ourselves not just as general contractors, but as "Home Editors." Our philosophy is that a renovation should not erase a home’s history but edit it to fit modern life. We specialize in working within the constraints of established neighbourhoods like Westmount, Ville-Marie, and the Sud-Ouest, navigating complex permits, heritage guidelines, and structural challenges to deliver seamless results.

We bridge the gap between architectural vision and construction reality. Unlike volume builders who prefer new construction, we thrive on the complexity of "the existing." We carefully curate space—removing friction in layouts, modernizing mechanical systems, and crafting additions that feel native to the original structure.

Mission Statement & Value Proposition

Our Mission: To curate spaces for modern living through the art of "editing" architectural heritage. We strive to bring clarity, light, and flow to older homes without sacrificing their character.

Why Clients Choose Us:

  • The "Editor" Approach: We don't just demo; we refine. We look at a house holistically to see what should be kept and what needs to change.

  • Design-Led Build: We speak the language of architects and designers. We care about reveal details, material transitions, and lighting just as much as we care about timelines and budgets.

  • Bureaucracy Management: We specialize in the difficult logistics of Westmount and Ville-Marie, handling permits, zoning, and heritage committees so the client doesn't have to.

  • Transparency: We use clear project management tools to keep clients informed on budget and schedule every week.
